On April 4, the National Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Tourism kicked off in Bergamo—an event conceived by Turismi.ai and Guida Viaggi.

During the panel titled “Data and Personalization of the Offer – How Data Analysis and AI Personalize the Tourist Offer, Optimizing Communication Strategies”, moderated by Mirko Lalli, CEO of The Data Appeal Company (Almawave Group) and Founder and Vice President of Turismi.ai, our Head of Product, Vincenzo Sciacca, also took the stage.

Joining him were Francesco Ciuccarelli, Chief Innovation & Technology Officer at Alpitour World, and Francesca Benati, SVP Travel Seller Europe and Managing Director Italy for Amadeus.

We decided to invest in Velvet, Almawave’s family of Large Language Models, because it represents a concrete vision of the evolution of artificial intelligence: technology with a real impact on the market. There’s a lot of talk about Generative AI today, but often there’s a gap between the narrative and reality. Building successful applications doesn’t just depend on the models themselves, but on the ability to integrate them into solid, useful architectures,” said Sciacca.

However, adopting generative AI comes with major challenges—from biases and hallucinations to complying with ever-evolving European regulations. In the tourism sector, AI offers huge opportunities: from personalized travel planning to real-time assistance and intelligent experience management. Today, multi-agent systems are becoming increasingly mainstream, with numerous commercial applications helping travelers plan their itineraries—while ensuring strict control and governance by the companies behind them. Our all-in-one platform, AIWave, stands out by offering solutions based on multi-agent models that are intelligently organized and coordinated. The challenge we’ve taken on is an exciting one: developing platforms capable of supporting travelers through the integration of smart agents and human operators, delivering reliable information and certified recommendations based on quality catalogs.
