Velvet now supported in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure AI quick actions
12 June 2025
Almawave today announced that Velvet, its family of generative AI models, is now supported as a default LLM in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Data Science AI Quick Actions. OCI Data Science AI Quick Actions is a platform service that enables Oracle customers to easily evaluate and deploy commercial AI foundation models.
With this integration, customers can now easily and efficiently test Velvet to build generative AI solutions into their business processes, benefiting from Velvet’s scalability, high availability, and advanced security. The integration also enables Velvet, which is designed in Italy with a strong focus on data sovereignty and regulatory compliance, to reach customers anywhere in the world through Oracle’s partner ecosystem.
“This choice confirms the mutual attention and trust between Oracle and Almawave. Being included among the default LLM models in the OCI Data Science AI Quick Actions gives us relevant strategic visibility at a global level. This collaboration further reinforces our vision of an Artificial Intelligence at the service of people and businesses, designed in Europe and able to integrate effectively and efficiently in real contexts to generate concrete impacts” said Valeria Sandei, CEO Almawave.
“We are truly proud – both as Oracle and as Italians – of the significant and rapid progress Almawave is making, also with our support. Thanks to the distinctive features of our OCI AI Infrastructure, which enable the full potential of cloud-enabled artificial intelligence to be realized, their Velvet family will soon be able to deliver increasingly high-performing, scalable, and secure AI models—to the benefit of end customers across Europe” said Andrea Sinopoli, VP and Country Leader Cloud Technology, Oracle Italy.
