Valeria Sandei receives the "John McCarthy" Award 2025

From the stage of AI Week, Valeria Sandei, CEO of Almawave, receives the “John McCarthy” Award 2025: a recognition that celebrates those who have successfully integrated Artificial Intelligence into business models, generating value and innovation.

“I am honored to receive this award. I thank Oracle for the mention and, above all, for the support—with its OCI cloud infrastructure and expertise—in the development we are pursuing. This award is named after John McCarthy, one of the greatest computer scientists of all time, who not only coined the term ‘artificial intelligence’ seventy years ago but also made a fundamental contribution to the birth and development of this field. This great figure brings us back to the idea of technology as free thought, scientific creativity, and a high expression of human capability, conceived in a human-centric way.
