“The IT sector is heavily male-dominated, and in particular, the field of artificial intelligence has an even lower female presence. However, this does not mean that there are no women capable of leading change in this sector. I am happy to say that at the head of our AI Engineering, within our labs, there is a woman: she reached this position thanks to her skills, vision, and the excellence she demonstrates every day in her work,” says Valeria Sandei, CEO of Almawave, during an interview on Class CNBC’s W Leadership program.
“Technology is made by people, let’s not forget that. Inclusion generates innovation, and ideas come from different perspectives.”
“We carry out numerous initiatives because we are constantly searching for talent, both male and female. We are talking about a highly specialized and complex field that is constantly evolving: every day brings something new, a different way of doing things, and the challenge is always ongoing.
Female talent is identified by engaging with universities, creating collaborative labs, and conducting activities in schools. We therefore have several initiatives, at multiple levels, to support all of this, as well as specific recruiting actions aimed in this direction.
The world of work and the academic world must be connected by a strong link: companies must collaborate with universities in a smooth and effective way, working on initiatives and concrete projects—market projects that are truly relevant for those who will ultimately use and implement this technology.”
