Almawave, an Italian company leading in Artificial Intelligence (AI), natural language analysis, and Big Data services, presents RicovAI-19, a project launched in recent weeks in the municipality of Offagna (AN), thanks to the collaboration between Ospedali Riuniti di Ancona, Università Politecnica delle Marche, ASUR Marche, and the companies Vivisol and Aditech. This is a pilot feasibility study (non-pharmacological interventional) and a clinical trial in which Artificial Intelligence concretely supports patients, doctors, and hospitals on multiple levels in the complex challenge of combating the COVID-19 pandemic, with the potential for future applications in the diagnosis and prognosis of other diverse diseases.

“Artificial Intelligence is ready to confirm itself as a strategic ally for our lives, especially in the current context,” said Valeria Sandei, CEO of Almawave. “After years of commitment, research, and investment in advanced technologies to be applied also to the healthcare sector, we are pleased to be a fundamental part of a concrete pilot clinical trial like RicovAI-19. The close collaboration between our technicians and a healthcare professional such as Professor Marco Mazzanti, Scientific Director of the Study, has allowed us to develop an innovative system capable of perfectly integrating scientific and technological advances with the needs of local healthcare.

Specifically, a sensor detects multiple values of symptomatic patients, such as body temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation; these are transmitted to a dedicated app. Almawave’s AI engine interprets all data and information in real time, calculating the clinical stability indicator and making it available to doctors, who are responsible for clinical actions, therapeutic decisions, and assessments tailored to the needs of each individual patient. We are confident that in the near future this model can be applied to multiple areas of healthcare, offering increasingly strategic value in service to both citizens and doctors.”
