The Nairobi AI Forum 2026 took place in Nairobi, Kenya, in recent days. This exclusive event focused on artificial intelligence in Africa, with the aim of fostering concrete collaborations and accelerating AI adoption across the continent—moving beyond theory and concentrating on tangible results.

The two-day forum brought together private sector leaders, innovators, investors, and government representatives from Africa, Italy, the European Union, and the G7, creating a unique opportunity for international dialogue and networking.

Within this context, Franco Martino, International Business Director at Almawave, spoke on two panels:

  • Connecting Italy and Africa’s AI Industries, as a representative of Confindustria Assafrica & Mediterraneo, highlighting opportunities for collaboration between Italy and Africa in the AI sector;

  • Voice AI Adoption – From African Language Data to African Users: Building the Blueprint for Scale”, alongside other industry experts, focusing on strategies to scale voice AI across the African continent.

During his interventions, Martino illustrated how Almawave’s projects in Africa demonstrate that generative artificial intelligence can accelerate digitalization, improve public services, and support socio-economic development. Almawave’s well-established presence in the country, combined with the experience gained in Italy in applying AI within the public sector, enables the company to address this technological challenge with expertise and enthusiasm.
