CLIC-IT 2023: Almawave at the Ninth Italian Conference on Computational Linguistics
27 November 2023
From 30 November to 2 December, the Ninth Italian Conference on Computational Linguistics will take place at CLIC-IT 2023, a conference organised by AILC – Associazione Italiana di Linguistica Computazionale.
During the event, Cristina Giannone, Head of Almawave’s AI Engineering team, and Flavia Achena, Junior NLP Engineer, will present two scientific papers:
- “Legal Summarization: to each Court its own model”
- “Prompting LLMs in Italian language for Text-to-SQL translation”
The papers were developed in collaboration with colleagues: David Preti, Andrea Favalli, Raniero Romagnoli and experts from the University of Rome ‘Tor Vergata’ – Davide Venditti, Leonardo Ranaldi, Fabio Massimo Zanzotto, Federico Ranaldi, Elena Sofia Ruzzetti.
The first paper aims to understand the potential of artificial intelligence in simplifying access to the contents of legal judgments and explains how, through AI models, it is possible to synthesise the contents and assess their effectiveness. The analysis was carried out on two Italian courts: the Constitutional Court and the Court of Cassation. The second paper focuses on the analysis and use of Large Language Models on the translation of questions into natural language.
