Almawave at the forefront of the DITECFER event
6 June 2025
The 2nd DITECFER Acceleration Event, “Artificial Intelligence Made Easy for the Railway and Mobility Value Chain”, has come to a close. The event provided an in-depth look at the opportunities and challenges of applying artificial intelligence to the railway and industrial sectors.
Almawave took part with two key contributions. Paolo Spiga, AI Technology Consultant at Almawave, presented VELVET, our family of Large Language Models developed in Italy. He explained how it is possible to design and train LLMs while ensuring transparency, privacy, and data governance—without compromising high technological standards. He also highlighted how adhering to these principles represents a strategic advantage and a strong trust factor in the market.
Antonio Cerqua, CIO of Almawave, showcased concrete applications of generative artificial intelligence in industrial contexts, demonstrating how VELVET effectively meets the needs of highly regulated and complex sectors such as railway and manufacturing. Through practical use cases, he showed how GenAI can support knowledge management, process automation, and the improvement of operational continuity—with applications ranging from the drafting and reviewing of technical documentation to the automatic generation of reports, from intelligent handling of support requests to natural language interaction with legacy systems.
