Almawave CEO Valeria Sandei at Class Editori's 'W Leadership Summit

“It is increasingly important for women to understand the potential that technology can have in all sectors and aspects of our lives and to actively engage in it, shaping a future that is now evident to all and will be relevant to our economies and social context,” said Valeria Sandei, CEO of Almawave, while participating in the W Leadership Summit 2024 in Milan, an event on female leadership organized by Class Editori.

Where does one begin to break down cultural prejudices? Does female leadership exist? Is it still relevant to talk about gender quotas? These and other questions about the educational and career paths of women, as well as female leadership in finance, business, and institutions, are the central themes of the event. It has gathered an exceptional panel to compare experiences, careers, and opinions in a cross-cutting manner and to draft the manifesto of W Leadership, presenting it to institutions with 10 proposals to reduce the gender gap in the world of work.

“In all its forms, diversity of perspective is a value,” added Sandei. “Almawave’s challenge is to be technological actors in a transformation and to do so as an Italian company.”

What can be done to attract girls to STEM disciplines? “Encourage a cultural change from the grassroots, starting from primary schools, and help understand the professional and life opportunities in technological contexts. Those who are aware can make informed choices.”
